Meeting Donald Trump — Thanks To An NFT Investment

Now, this friend of mine? Not exactly a Trump fan.

I've got a fresh story from a buddy who just had the most unique weekend at — wait for it — Mar-a-Lago! It was at the Trump NFT collection event, with the man himself, Donald Trump, as the star of the show.

Not A Trump Fan

Now, this friend of mine? Not exactly a Trump fan.

Walking the winding halls, my friend was caught in a mix of hesitation and intrigue. "The moment I stepped into Mar-a-Lago, I was tempted to run away," he confessed.

FYI: Trump in December 2022, released an NFT collection that was sold in less than 12 hours, for over $1 million.

Despite his reservations about Trump, my buddy bought $1000 worth Trump NFTs. He told me, the NFT investment seemed like a no-brainer when he considered Trump's involvement, regardless of his personal opinion. "You know, it felt surreal to bet on something you don't fully support. But business is business.”

But that winning feeling came with some weighty reflection. "It's a funny thing, you know? You get caught up in the excitement of a smart investment but at what cost? Throughout the whole gala," he shared with a frown, "I kept asking myself if I was compromising my principles."

Best Steak Ever

The grand gala dinner, though, was nothing short of spectacular. "I'm no fan of Trump's politics, but that gilded ballroom was another universe. It was hard not to appreciate the grandeur of it all."

His family's reaction to his NFT flip was a bittersweet pill to swallow. "I admit, explaining that my best investment this year came from Trump's NFTs drew a few raised eyebrows at the dinner table," he recounted with a wry smile. "Quite the irony for someone who's always debated politics with them.".

Wrapping up our chat, my friend summed it up: "It's a crazy world—where an investment not only tests your wallet's weight but also the heft of your values." He left me with one final nugget, "Oh, by the way, the steak was unbelievable—the best ever, for real!"
